Everleap from the Tech Support Manager’s Point of View

Martin OrtegaI’m the Technical Support Manager here at Everleap, and I’d like to offer up my point of view today and get straight to the point of what Everleap is all about.

Everleap has two hosting plans: the Single site plan or Multi-site plan. You can compare the two plans on our website. When you sign up, just choose whichever plan fits your needs. Remember that you can always upgrade from the Single site plan to the Multi-site plan at a later time if you need to. So if you’re not sure what you need now, go with the Single site plan to start.

How to Migrate nopCommerce to Everleap Cloud Hosting

Martin OrtegaFirst, sign up for a site account.

Second thing you want to do is download your site from your current hosting provider:

1. Connect to your current site account via FTP

Want to Give Everleap Reserved Cloud Servers a Try?

Martin OrtegaEver wanted to try one of our Reserved Cloud Servers but weren’t sure how it would work with your site? Well, we’re allowing current Everleap customers to try out a Reserved Cloud Server for a few days to see how you like it.

What are Reserved Cloud Servers exactly?

All the power you want! Kinda.

Your site (or sites, if you’re on the Multi-Site Cloud plan) is placed in its own reserved instance. That means no one else is on the server, it’s just you. Some of the benefits are:

nopCommerce Running Slow: Issue Solved

Martin OrtegaI have seen nopCommerce go from being a web application that just needed about 300 MB of RAM to being an application that requires a lot more memory just to be installed out of the box, much less run.

Doing a Google Search for “nopCommerce running slow” brings up a number of articles that show this problem to be widespread. Another issue people have is simply installing it and getting it to work on their current hosting service.

So how do we resolve these problems?

Everleap customer story Q&A with Pam Nelligan of Statdash

Michael PhillipsThis is an excerpt, the entire Q&A with Pam, as well as more customer stories, are available on our site.

Statdash is a task management progress tracker that allows you to see where your project stands in one dashboard. The solution employs an automated status request scheduler and activity notifications to eliminate the legwork usually needed to track down team members and find out the status of tasks and activities. We recently chatted with Pam Nelligan, Chief Software Architect and one of the co-founders of Statdash to learn more about her startup and how Everleap has fit into her growing business.

Everleap: Thanks for talking with us Pam. Tell us about yourself and your professional background.

Pam Nelligan: I’m a software developer and also a certified project manager. Software development has changed a lot since I started in 1991. It was a whole different world back then – no Internet per se and no development on the Internet. I worked for a software development company for 16 years and in 2007 went out on my own to be an independent contractor. When I left the company I was at, I decided to get into development on the Internet.

Introducing Private MongoDB hosting

Takeshi EtoI’m excited to announce the launch of Private MongoDB hosting at Everleap.

This new premium NoSQL solution will provide you with your own private MongoDB server. Your MongoDB databases will get access to all of the disk space, CPU and RAM on the virtual machine. And like our other hosting services, it is fully managed. We will handle all the server updates and security at no additional cost, freeing you to devote your time and resources to your website and applications rather than server maintenance.

Swiss-US Privacy Shield Certification Achieved

Takeshi EtoLast year we attained EU-US Privacy Shield Certification and the policy update included legacy Swiss-US Safe Harbor language. But earlier this year, a new Swiss-US Privacy Shield  Framework was approved. And on April 12th, the US Department of Commerce started accepting applications for the new Swiss-US Privacy Shield framework.

Privacy Shield FrameworkThere are some differences between the EU-US Privacy Shield and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield frameworks. We worked with our privacy management solutions partner, Truste, to make sure that our privacy policies and practices meet the requirements of both frameworks. So I am happy to announce that we have attained Swiss-US Privacy Shield Certification.
