Who is the PCI and what is PCI DSS?
Let’s back up here. The Payment Card Industry (PCI) is a collective of all the major credit card players, such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover…etc. They created the PCI Security Standards Council to help address and reduce credit card data loss. This organization created an evolving Data Security Standards (DSS) and mandates all sites who accept credit card payments must meet these standards.
What are the PCI DSS requirements?
To be PCI DSS certified, you are required to submit an annual questionnaire, and running/passing a quarterly PCI site security scan.
Cost
The SiteLock PCI Compliance Scan service is $360 per year, which is among the lowest compared to other PCI certification services. Please note that the SiteLock PCI Certification service does require you to have a SiteLock Security Scan plan.
