We often get questions regarding the differences between our Everleap Managed Hosting solutions and hosting at Microsoft Azure. So I thought I’d address this question here.
Let me say first that Microsoft Azure is a powerful public cloud platform. It is built for developers and can run virtually anything. Microsoft is continuously adding more functionality to address very niche technological use cases. Everything you can do on our Everleap platform, you can do on Azure. So, it is natural for anyone to ask then, compared to the Azure behemoth, why does Everleap even try to compete?
It’s a good question and the answer is that we are not really trying to compete with Azure on hosting technologies. We know that Azure will always have a deeper technology stack and a much bigger footprint than we will ever have. While our hosting functionality can overlap with Azure, Everleap fills a different need in the market. We focus on delivering services to small- and medium-sized businesses. We are not trying to be all things for all use cases. Plainly speaking, sometimes you may need the many tools of a Swiss army knife and other times you just need a good pair of scissors.
In 2003, we started traditional Shared Hosting at DiscountASP.NET, and we learned a lot. We saw that there came a time when customers needed to upgrade their site to a server with more resources. So when we first designed Everleap, we thought of the different situations our customers would encounter in their hosting journey. People needed a modern web hosting service that could quickly grow with their sites and one with practically no downtime. So we designed our Everleap Shared Cloud Hosting solution with the ability to expand from our basic Shared cloud hosting service to our private Reserved Server instantly with little to no downtime.
But now, what happens to those customers who require something more than our Shared Cloud Hosting platform?
In a nutshell, Everleap’s Managed Hosting Solutions are our white glove, customized, private cloud hosting service for mission-critical sites. It was designed specifically for organizations that require near-zero downtime – websites that are so important that it would literally put a halt to their business if their site did go down. We understand the importance of the requirements of mission-critical websites and the need for a hosting provider that can fully support them and an easily expandable hosting system that can grow with their business. Our Managed Hosting Services support the needs of mission-critical sites.
Expanding our service portfolio beyond website cloud hosting, we are excited to announce the launch of our new Managed Cloud Backup Solution. We believe that this solution will help your business stay resilient from ransomware, cyberattacks and other forms of data loss.
Your Mission-Critical Data Backup Simplified
Everleap’s Managed Cloud Backup Solution backs up business critical data from your on-prem servers, desktops, laptops and mobile devices.

Today we announce that .NET 5 or ASP.NET Core 5 is installed on the Everleap system for Framework-dependent Deployment (FDD). (Note that .NET 5 or any other .NET Core version can always be used on the Everleap platform at any time with Self-Contained Deployment (SCD) – even if the version is not installed on the server.) It did take a little while to get .NET 5 available for FDD on our entire system since we’ve been going through a round of hardware upgrades. I’m happy to say that we’ve finished this round of upgrades and so now .NET 5 is available on all servers.
